Where the figures come from

The figures on this site come from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Domestic Airline Consumer Airfare Report, Table 1: top 1,000 contiguous-state city-pair markets (average one-way fare, passengers per day, largest carrier, lowest-fare carrier), published by the U.S. Department of Transportation. The source data page is data.transportation.gov/d/4f3n-jbg2.

Fares are average one-way fares paid, including taxes and fees, for the quarter shown. They are historical averages, not today’s prices at any airline.
